Partnering Organizations

1. Hong Fook Mental Health Association

Hong Fook Mental Health Association was established in 1982 to address the mental health concerns in the East & Southeast Asian communities in Toronto.  It works with the Cambodian, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese communities.  The Association aims to help people with linguistic and cultural barriers to gain access to mental health services.  It provides counseling, case management, assessment, consultation, advocacy, psycho-educational workshops, self help and mutual support groups, special English as a second language classes and housing services to community members with mental health problems and their families.  It also provides community education and mental health promotion activities.  It has an annual budget of over $4.2 million.

2. St Paul L'Amoreaux Centre

St. Paul's L'Amoreaux Centre has been a pioneer in the field of senior care for over 30 years. Established in 1978, it became accredited by Accreditation Canada in 2008. St. Paul's unique blend of housing and community services provide a continuum of care that supports independent living for those in need of extra assistance and care. Its programs and services help attain a higher quality of life, maintain seniors' independence and overall well being, and facilitate seniors' navigation through a healthy aging process.  It is located in one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse areas of Toronto at Warden and Finch. Its agency provides services in the languages of the community: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tamil, and Greek. Its services are geared to seniors, but are also available to other members of the community in need including people with physical disabilities, mobility impairments and cognitive impairments.  It has an annual budget of $7.6 million.

3. Grace Christian School of North York

Grace Christian School of North York has been serving the North York community since 2001 by providing quality day care for children.  It currently serves 113 children from 15 months old to 5 years old.  It provides 68 subsidized spaces in partnership with the City of Toronto.  It runs an annual summer camp attended by 300-400 children and annual summer leadership training for youths attended by 50 youths.  It also runs an after school enrichment program for students.

4. Five with D.R.I.V.E. Foundation

The Five with Drive Foundation is a volunteer based organization, located in Markham, Ontario. The foundation is run wholeheartedly on a volunteer basis with a mission of making a difference in the lives of others. Founded in 2004, the Five with Drive Foundation has supported many local causes and organized various fund raising events across York Region.

5. Across U-Hub

Across U-hub is a charitable community organization dedicated to serve Canadian youth, especially those of Chinese descent. It recognizes the importance of fostering in our youth a clear sense of identity and leadership qualities. Its programs - through cultural media, mentoring guidance, peer support system, and group activities - offer inter-disciplinary training to our young members with the intent to build up their creative capacity, discernment ability, and communication skills. These programs are also designed to facilitate their integration into our multicultural society and to nurture their personal holistic growth socially, emotionally and spiritually.

6. Parent Child Resource Centre

The Parent-Child Education Resource Centre is an organization that aims to improve the parent-child relationship and family interactions and bonding. It seeks to serve both Cantonese and Mandarin speaking parents in handling their parental issues through providing resources, education and consultation. It has been serving the GTA community for almost 10 years.

7. Christian Wushu Fellowship

The Christian Wushu Fellowship has been offering training in the Chinese martial arts for close to 20 years in the GTA. It has trained thousands of students of all ages and all backgrounds at its different locations.

8. Heavenly Melody Gospel Ministry

The Heavenly Melody Gospel Ministry Chinese Orchestra and Opera performing group has been performing traditional Chinese music and promoting Chinese culture and arts for 15 years.
